PNF™ based elastomers were the first commercial applications for the Phosphazene Technology Platform and dates back to the 1970’s when the material was initially introduced by Firestone Tire & Rubber. Since that initial introduction, the material was used in many aerospace and defense applications. The key properties the materials displayed for these critical applications included:

• High-Performance Elastomers (flexural fatigue, low temperature, chemical resistant)
• Vibration Dampening (flexural fatigue, high tan delta, low temperature)
• Nuclear (chemical and radiation resistance)

One of the other areas of interest is the use of the technology for flame retardant additives for other polymeric and coating materials.
